About the Hike
Experience the essence of Pelister's alpine wilderness on a scenic guided hike to the famous Big Lake, one of the two iconic Pelister Eyes. This route is one of the classic hikes in Pelister National Park and a beautiful way to discover the mountain above Bitola.
Along the trail, you will pass through open pastures, wild blueberry fields, clear mountain streams and landscapes shaped by ancient glaciers. The final reward is Big Lake at 2,218 m, a peaceful alpine lake surrounded by high mountain scenery.

What to Expect
The hike begins at the peaceful mountain village of Nizopole. The route climbs through pastures, grasslands and wild blueberry fields before reaching higher alpine terrain. After around 3 hours of ascent, we arrive at the tranquil shores of Big Lake.
The lake is an ideal place to rest, enjoy a snack and take in the high-mountain atmosphere before returning by the same route.
